MusiCares Launches ‘Wellness in Music’ Survey to Gauge Music Community’s Physical & Mental Health

Written by on October 12, 2020

MusiCares stresses that this is a voluntary survey and that all responses are strictly confidential.

MusiCares is launching a new, first-of-its kind Wellness in Music survey. The philanthropic arm of the Recording Academy is asking music professionals “to share their honest realities, especially as it relates to their overall mental and physical health and wellness.”

The 61-question survey will be live from Saturday (Oct. 10) — which, appropriately, is World Mental Health Day — until Nov. 9. The results will be released in early 2021. MusiCares intends to put out a similar survey every year.

MusiCares is conducting the survey “to better understand the circumstances and well-being of individuals who are earning their living working in music,” the organization says. “Our goal is to learn how different aspects of being a music professional relate to overall well-being and mental health.”
