GHS: NO TSUNAMI ALERT FOR GUAM

No Tsunami Threat from Japan Earthquake
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 and later downgraded to a 6.6, 27km E of Tomakomai, Japan at 4:07 a.m. (ChST), with a depth of 33.4 km.
As advised by the National Weather Service, Weather Forecast Office Guam, there is NO tsunami threat to Guam or the Marianas from the earthquake.
This will be the only statement issued unless additional information is received.
