Afternoons are Hot with Nyah Joe!

For 20 years, it’s been the Sunday broadcast island music lovers tuned into religiously. Beginning next Monday, Nyahjoe’s “Island Stylin’ Reggae Show” will be airing weekday afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m.
“I want to bring the same heat that I bring every Sunday to the afternoons,” said Nyahjoe, a radio veteran who’s been on the air for nearly 30 years. “As everybody’s day winds down, I want to entertain and get them where they’re going safely.”
Nyah joins a jam-packed lineup on 99.5FM. The Cookie Jar kicks off each weekday from 6 to 10 a.m. Cookie was the Shark’s first live show host and is the station’s Program Director.
“I’ve seen this station grow from humble beginnings to a full-fledge radio force,” she said. “I’m humbled by the continued response for more island, roots, and reggae music. We’re the the only FM offering dedicated to the genre, so I’m pumped for Nyah to expand his presence and share his unrivaled music library every single weekday.”
Another recent addition to the ‘Shark’ is island favorite Cecilio Rodriguez, one half of the legendary Cecilio & Kapono. His show “Goodtimes with Cee” airs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We are so excited to welcome Nyah and Guam’s longest running radio show to the weekday line up on the Shark. It’s going to be a barbecue at the beach every weekday afternoon,” said Kyle Mandapat, Director of FM Operations for the Sorensen Media Group. “This is just one example of what we have in store for our FM listeners this year.”
Listeners can tune into the ‘Shark’ anywhere in the world by downloading the free Guam Shark app on your iOS or Android devices or by streaming live at www.theshark.gu.
