As one of the most prolific songwriters in modern music, Diane Warren has notched nine No. 1 hits and 32 top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100 behind the scenes. But she’ll soon come into the solo spotlight with the release of her debut album, Diane Warren: The Cave Sessions Vol. 1.
The 64-year-old hitmaker’s new collection via BMG is set to come out in early 2021, featuring an all-star roster of performers: John Legend, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Jason Derulo, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, LP and Darius Rucker.
“I am writing new songs all the time, and I really think I’m writing my best songs right now,” the Songwriters Hall of Fame icon said about her first-ever studio project in a press statement. “A lot of people have done this kind of project — Mark Ronson or Calvin Harris or DJ Khaled — but no one who is just a songwriter has. So why not me? I thought it would be a chance to work with artists I love and other artists I want to work with, and create a cool body of work that shows the diversity of what I do.”
