After Decades of Hits as a Songwriter, Diane Warren Announces Her Very First Album

“Times Like This” with Darius Rucker will be the first single, out Nov. 10.

As one of the most prolific songwriters in modern music, Diane Warren has notched nine No. 1 hits and 32 top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100 behind the scenes. But she’ll soon come into the solo spotlight with the release of her debut album, Diane Warren: The Cave Sessions Vol. 1.

The 64-year-old hitmaker’s new collection via BMG is set to come out in early 2021, featuring an all-star roster of performers: John LegendCeline DionMary J. BligeJason DeruloTy Dolla $ignJhené AikoLP and Darius Rucker.

“I am writing new songs all the time, and I really think I’m writing my best songs right now,” the Songwriters Hall of Fame icon said about her first-ever studio project in a press statement. “A lot of people have done this kind of project — Mark Ronson or Calvin Harris or DJ Khaled — but no one who is just a songwriter has. So why not me? I thought it would be a chance to work with artists I love and other artists I want to work with, and create a cool body of work that shows the diversity of what I do.”
